The Nebelung is a rare breed of domestic cat, seems distant relatives of the Russian blue with longer coat that is why they share a lot of common characteristics. They are medium-sized cats with medium-length coat with the characteristic grey color, silver-tipped, giving a shiny effect.
The Nebelung cats have a modified wedge-shaped head, large ears with pointed tips and oval deep green eyes. They have long, graceful neck, long legs, long tail and a well-muscled body. Their double coat has a fine, silky texture.
The Nebelung cats are friendly, intelligent, playful, affectionate and extremely loyal like dogs. They get along well with family members, children and other pets, including dogs, as soon as they are treated with respect. It is better the introduction with other pets take place smoothly and the children are taught to treat the cat with care and respect. They are not recommended for very young children.
The Nebelung are very affectionate and if you give them the attention they need to be happy, you will have a lifetime friend, loyal as a dog.
The Nebelung cats are sensitive personalities. They really require affection as they give to their family. Though, they do not have problem to stay alone and can entertain themselves easily.
The Nebelung is a healthy breed, with no recorded genetic problems. They require regular combing, twice a week, to maintain their silky semi-long coat in good shape. Nail trimming, teeth brushing, ear cleaning and surely annual vaccination complete their grooming needs. But above all, if you adopt a Nebelung, you adopt a dog-like cat. Give him all your love and you will get it back double!
