A short time back while looking for information on cat neutering I came across a question on a Q&A site that really caught my attention and I’m sure as you read on you’ll be able to see why my jaw dropped as I read this information.
Here was the question that will probably cause your heart to skip a beat…
Is it possible to neuter a cat at home? ????
Yowser!
(you read that right!)

Whatever you do…do not even contemplate this. There’s a duty of care to your pet when considering this procedure. As I further looked into it I noticed there was other information out there on the internet pertaining to neutering cats and not only that but there’s some news stories surrounding the issue where there has been instances of neutering cats at home.
Unbelievable to even consider such a thing.
Thankfully the owners of the pet that this happened to were prosecuted for animal cruelty.
Unfortunately it is a sad state of affairs that people who are caring for pets are resorting to such drastic cost cutting measures. For that reason this site is going to draw attention to why it is cat neutering is an important issue for those pet owners caring for kittens.
At the same time, there are neutering cats free services that are available but the costs if you can’t access this sort of facility is around 50 to 70 bucks.
If you’re only at the stage of considering getting yourself a lovely cute kitty and want some pricing details of neutering cats costs then you may want to consider a medical bill a bit higher just to be sure you can afford it.
If you can afford $100 for the veterinary costs then you’ll be able to get it done no problem and provide stable care for your cat.
If that sounds a bit on the high end of a medical bill that you might not be able to afford you could look into charitable services to see if they could help out but for the well being of the pet and for other medical bills and costs.
Please take all this into account before making a decision to take on the responsibility of taking on any pet.
Just like us, they need tending to, they have a cost of living and they have medical needs as well. Neutering cats is just one of those needs that are required for a couple of reasons which we’ll go over within this site.
We just felt after seeing some drastic stories around the net that a resource of this information was vitally important so that folks know if they ever consider neutering cats at home it is a NO GO area. There is no grey area around it. It’s considered inhumane to the animal and is a prosecutable offence but what’s worse is that you can actually kill the cat trying that sort of stunt.
You need a vet to carry the procedure out and they’ll do the deed professionally and humanely with the minimal of distress to your pet kitty and provide you with all the neutering cats aftercare you will need to know.
I will provide some information here but your veterinary clinic is going to provide you far more knowledgeable information than I can give you.
This is only an informational website addressing what we feel should be available all in one place to help people with this sort of thing.
It is in no way to replace that of your animal doctor and is for guidance only.
If you’re having problems with a spraying cat — we’ve basically dedicated this whole website to you. There’s hundreds of unique tips for you to choose from.
